Connect Bath provides events and activities to tackle loneliness and prevent social marginalisation across the BaNES area.
Every year we provide a freshly cooked festive lunch to anyone who would otherwise be alone on Christmas Day, supporting their wellbeing through conversation, connection and companionship.
Connect at Christmas
No one should feel lonely on Christmas Day
Who we are
Connect Bath was previously known as Bath Open Christmas and has been supporting local residents for the last 30 years. It is run by a small team of enthusiastic volunteers who are currently seeking charitable status.
What we do
Every year we host a free event for up to 150 guests who would otherwise be alone at Christmas, providing lunch and festive cheer thanks to the generous support of our hosts at Kingswood School. We make home deliveries for those unable to attend and cater for our volunteer helpers. Meals are also provided to Julian House.
Other activities continue across the year.
How to help
Whether it’s behind-the-scenes preparations like collecting raffle prizes, wrapping presents, sourcing provisions - or on Christmas Day itself as drivers, greeters, kitchen helpers, servers or table hosts - there are many ways to help put a smile on the faces of those we support.
How to donate
We welcome donations from local businesses, charities, churches and individuals to support our work within the local community. We also seek grant funding and receive gift aid on donations through our Local Giving page. You can also send Christmas e-cards which help support our work.
